Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola officially launched The Office of Legal Services Ombud (OLSO) in Pretoria. The event was held at Protea Hotel, Menlyn, on 2 June 2022.

Justice and Correctional Services Minister, Ronald Lamola travelled to Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape to hand over the remains of a Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) struggle heroes who were sentenced to death by the Apartheid government on 27 May 2022.
The Department hosted the World Conference Against Racism (WCAR), which reflected on the 20 years since its inception. In addition, the event assessed the progress made towards the implementation of South Africa’s National Action Plan (NAP) to Combat Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance. The two-day gathering was held in Kempton Park, Gauteng, on 23-24 May 2022.
As part of the Justice Learner Campaign, the Department hosted about 90 learners from various schools around Pretoria on 25 May 2022. The schools included Mamelodi High School, Ribanelaka Secondary School and Phelindaba High School from Atteridgeville where learners were exposed in various career opportunities in Justice.

On 25 and 26 April 2022, Director-General Doc Mashabane made his way to Mpumalanga for court visits. On the 25 April 2022, the DG travelled to Tonga Magistrate’s Court to assess service delivery.
On the same day (on 25 April) , DG made his way to Boschfontein Magistrate’s Court and ended the day at White River Magistrate’s Court.
The DG ended his tour at the Vosman Branch Court, a few kilometres from eMalahleni, where he met staff and management, also signed and handed over commemorative copies of the Constitution.
Later, the DG went to eMalahleni Magistrate’s Court where he engaged with staff and the judiciary.

On 7 April 2022, the Director-General, Advocate Doc Mashabane paid a visit to the Free State Regional Office.
On 6 April 2022, Director General, Advocate Doc Mashabane visited three courts in the Free State. The visit formed part of celebrating 25 years Anniversary of the Constitution as this year was declared as “Year of the Community”.

Galeshewe Magistrate’s Court was visited by the Director-General to appreciate staff for the work they do to help the community despite the challenges that they experience in the court. The visit took place on 5 April 2022.
Director-General, Advocate Doc Mashabane paid a visit to the Bloemfontein and Batho Magistrate Courts in the Free State on 7 April 2022 respectively. The visits were part of celebrating 25 years Anniversary of the Constitution.
Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola, received four reports on Sexual Offences (Pornography and Children), Practice of Ukuthwala, Legal Fees and Harmonisation of Existing Laws Providing for Prescription of Periods. The Minister, accompanied by his deputy, Mr John Jeffery, received the reports from the South African Law Reform Commission on Tuesday, 29 March 2022.
