Deputy Minister to address a workshop on the Prevention and Combatting of Trafficking in Persons

The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, John Jeffery, will address a Workshop on the prevention and combatting of trafficking in persons in Pretoria on Monday, 19 June 2017.

The workshop seeks to support the harmonisation of training programmes on Trafficking in Persons (TIP) in order to ensure an effective and coordinated response to trafficking in person.

The workshop will be attended by various stakeholders including South Africa National Inter-Sectoral Committee for Trafficking in Person (NICTIP) members, Civil Society Organisations (25), South Africa Police Services, National Prosecuting Authority, Directorate for Priority Crimes Investigations (HAWKS), Department of Home Affairs and Social Development, United Nations on Drugs and Crime members; and representatives from International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
