Members of the South African Law Reform Commission

On Friday, 05 October 2018, President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed the following people to serve as members of the South African Law Reform Commission (SALRC) for a period of five years:

• Judge Narandran Kollapen as the Chairperson of the Commission;
• Mr Irvin Lawrence as Vice-Chairperson of the Commission;
• Professor Mpfariseni Budeli-Nemakonde;
• Professor Karthigasen Govender;
• Professor Wesahl Domingo;
• Advocate Tshepo Sibeko;
• Advocate HJ de Waal SC;
• Advocate Anthea Platt SC, and;
• Advocate Hendrina Magaretha Meintjes SC.

The SALRC is an independent advisory statutory body established in terms of the South African Law Reform Commission Act of 1973. It investigates the state of South African law and makes reform proposals to the national and provincial legislatures.
