In order to actively involve the community at an earlier stage, the Commission has decided to publish issue papers for appropriate investigations as the first step in the consultation process. The purpose of an issue paper is to announce an investigation, to elucidate the aim and extent of the investigation, to point to possible options available for solving existing problems and to initiate and stimulate debate on identified issues by way of including specific questions on relevant issues.

• Issue Paper 42 (Project 100) Domestic Violence (the Criminal Law Response). Closing Date for Comments is 28 February 2022
• Issue Paper 41 (Project 100E) Extension of the Consultation Process: Revised Issue Paper 34: Review of Aspects of Matrimonial Property Law. Closing Date for Comments is 30 November 2021
• Issue Paper 40 (Project 145) Review of Mechanisms of Intergovernmental Relations Applicable to the Social Development Sector. Closing date for comments: 30 July 2021
• Issue Paper 39 (Project 148) on the Domestication of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and discussion points for workshops. Closing date for comment is 31 May 2021. Closing date for comment extended to 30 June 2021.
