The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Ms. Mmamoloko Kubayi, will join the judiciary and the legal sector at a special court sitting at the Constitutional Court of South Africa in Braamfontein, on Friday, 29 May 2026, to mark the retirement of Justice Zukisa Tshiqi.
This special sitting is a fitting tribute that will see Justice Tshiqi honoured by her peers and colleagues in the legal fraternity for her illustrious contribution to the South African Judiciary and her lasting commitment to strengthening constitutional democracy, upholding the rule of law, and protecting fundamental human rights.
Justice Tshiqi’s distinguished legal career spans more than two decades of dedicated public service, during which she served in various capacities across the legal and judicial sectors.
Reflecting on Justice Tshiqi’s service, Minister Kubayi said “Justice Zukisa Tshiqi has served the Judiciary with distinction and integrity. She has made a significant contribution to the development of South Africa’s constitutional jurisprudence, and we wish her well in her retirement.”
