Ministry of Police and Deputy Minister of Justice to Engage Stakeholders in Western Cape amid ongoing Gang Violence

The Minister of Police, Professor Firoz Cachalia, Deputy Minister of Police, Dr Polly Boshielo together with the Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr Andries Nel, will tomorrow 9 September 2025, engage with key stakeholders in Mitchells Plain and Mfuleni in the Western Cape. Stakeholders attending the engagements will include representatives from civic groups, religious leaders, and Community Policing Forums (CPFs).

The engagements form part of a broader effort by the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) Cluster to implement practical, community-driven interventions to combat gang violence and foster safety. They also aim to strengthen inter-departmental cooperation and build sustainable partnerships with affected communities.
