Justice Department to conclude the National Wills Week Campaign in Mthatha

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development in partnership with the Law Society of South Africa and other participating stakeholders, will on Friday 15 September 2023, officially conclude the National Wills Week campaign at Mthatha (Eastern Cape Province).

This year, the Wills Week campaign commenced on 11 September 2023 and will end on 15 September 2023. The National Wills Week initiative affords members of the public an opportunity to learn about the significance of Wills and how to draft them. 

Master of the High Court offices in all the Provinces, legal practitioners and private practice attorneys will set up service desks where the public will be assisted to draft Wills at no cost. Drafting of a Will ensures that one’s estate is administered in accordance with his/her wishes after death.
