Justice Department encourages members of the public to draft wills at no cost during the National Wills Week

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development in partnership with the Law Society of South Africa and other participating stakeholders, will on Monday 11 September 2023, officially open the National Wills Week campaign at Tshisaulu, Thohoyandou (Limpopo Province).

This year, the National Wills Week commences on 11 September 2023 and ends on 15 September 2023. The Wills Week initiative affords members of the public an opportunity to learn about the significance of Wills and how to draft them.

Master of the High Court offices in all the Provinces, legal practitioners and private practice attorneys will set up service desks where the public will be assisted to draft wills at no cost. Drafting of a Will ensures that one’s estate is administered in accordance with his/her wishes after death.
