Justice Department to host a community engagement in Delft

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development will host a community engagement session in Delft (Cape Town) in the Western Cape on 26 May 2023. The focus of the engagement will be on the work of the Office of the Family Advocate as part of the department’s Child Protection Week program.  

Held under the theme: “stop the cycle of neglect, abuse and exploitation of Children”, the event which is a precursor to Child Protection Week (29 May – 05 June 2023), seeks to highlight the work of the Department and its stakeholders in protecting the rights and the interests of the child.

The main focus of the event will be on the parental rights and responsibilities, child maintenance as well as the guardian’s fund. The event is a joint venture by the Department and various civil society organization.
