Deputy Ministers Jeffery and Mathale to give feedback on efforts to end violent crimes in Richmond Local Municipality

The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr John Jeffery, and the Deputy Minister of Police, Mr Cassel Mathale, will as part of government’s efforts to end violent crimes, jointly host the Integrated Ministerial Stakeholder Engagement on Friday, 05 May 2023, at Richmond Sports Complex (Richmond, KwaZulu-Natal Province).

Richmond Local Municipality has in the recent past, risen to notoriety over proliferation of violent crimes. It is envisaged that members of the media and stakeholders, will during the event be appraised with a feedback on prominent violent incidents within the Richmond area.

The event seeks to strengthen partnerships and mobilise all the sectors of society in the fight against crime. Deputy Ministers Jeffery and Mathale will be joined by the Minister of Transport, Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga, in her capacity as the District Development Model Champion in Umgungundlovu District Municipality.
