Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola has expressed his sadness at the passing on of the Deputy State Attorney in Johannesburg, Mr Tswaledi Webster Sekwati, today, Monday 9 September 2019. He was aged 53. Mr Sekwati’s was regarded as the quintessential public servant, during his tenure at the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, he immersed himself in the country’s justice system with great aplomb.
Furthermore, Mr Sekwati established himself as a formidable reservoir of legal knowledge and served as a Special Advisor to former Minister, Advocate Masutha. Minister Lamola has offered his sincerest condolences to the family, friends and former colleagues with whom Mr Sekwati shared his life.
“Ntate Sekwati’s death comes at a time when we need the best amongst us to serve with all the diligence we can muster. He was truly a remarkable South African, his visual impairment was never an obstacle, he rose above this to become an impeccable public servant,” said Minister Lamola. “His humility and dedication to serve South Africans will be endeared in our memories forever.”
