Justice Department to host awareness session on ritual and spiritual femicide

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development will host a public awareness and community outreach intervention on the subject of ritual and spiritual femicide in northern KwaZulu-Natal (Mbazwana area) on Friday, 23 August 2019.

The Department, together with other stakeholders, elected to hold the community dialogue and intervention in Mbazwana since ritual and spiritual practices resulting in femicides are proving to be on the rise. Ritual/spiritual femicide is defined as a cultural and spiritual killing of a female person to perform a ritual or a religious activity for a particular gain.
