Government calls on all media who wish to cover the National Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Femicide Summit to apply for accreditation. The Summit will take place on 1 and 2 November 2018 at Saint George Hotel and Conference Centre in Centurion, Pretoria.

In his speech on the occasion of the National Women’s Day 2018, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that a National Summit on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Femicide would be held between government and civil society to jointly determine a roadmap to end the scourge of gender-based violence and killings of women and girls in our country.

Full detail of the Summit will be provided at a later stage.

Members of the media applying for accreditation to cover the Summit should send their full names and ID/Passport numbers by 16h00 on Wednesday, 24 October 2018 to Itumelengs@gcis.gov.za or Pheliswa@gcis.gov.za.  Please use the attached form and complete all areas

NB: Only accredited media will be allowed to cover the event. Some of the sessions may be closed to the media.  Accredited media will be advised as soon as this information becomes available.
