The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development Mr John Jeffery will preside over the awards ceremony for the 08th National Finals of the Moot Court Competition at the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg on Sunday, 07 October 2018.
The competition was created for constitutional awareness engagements amongst other things to empower and encourage young South Africans, especially those in grade 10 and 11 from all the provinces including private and public schools to understand and relate to human rights concepts, values and principles to daily life activities at the interpersonal and intrapersonal level.
The competition is conducted in conjunction with the Department of Basic Education, University of Pretoria, Foundation for Human Rights as well as the South African Human Rights Commission.
