Minister Michael Masutha to officially handover the exhumed remains of Mandla Mjwara and Mfaniseni Mdlalose in Durban

The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Adv Michael Masutha, will preside over the official handover ceremony of the exhumed human remains of Mandla Mjwara and Mfaniseni Mdlalose in Durban on 18 August 2018.

Messrs Mjwara and Mdlalose were both members of Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) who operated in KwaZulu-Natal in the 1980s under the command of Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr. Zweli Mkhize, Muzi Thusi and Kevin Qobosheane. Both disappeared without a trace in 1987.

Working with their families and other stakeholders, the National Prosecutions Authority Missing Persons Task Team, has positively identified and exhumed Messrs Mjwara and Mdlalose remains.
