The Information Regulator hosts the Ugandans on a bench marking visit
On 5-7 September 2018, the Information Regulator( Regulator), will host the delegation from the Republic of Uganda on a bench marking visit. The delegation will be comprised of the representatives of the Uganda Communications Commission and the Members of the Ugandan Parliament. Uganda is in the process of enacting a law on privacy and data protection. The purpose of the visit, as articulated by the delegation, is to enrich the delegation’s understanding of the processes of data protection and ultimately improve their ongoing processes to enact a law on privacy and data protection in Uganda.
The Information Regulator (Regulator) represented by the Adv. Pansy Tlakula, Adv. Collen Weapond and the Acting CEO, Mr. Mosalanyana Mosala attended the 40th International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners ( ICDPPC) in Brussels from 22-25 October 2018. The theme of the conference was, “Debating Ethics: Dignity and Respect in Data Driven Life.”
